Due to the heating fabric’s dense mesh structure and robust design, it’s no problem later to mount lamps, curtains, pictures, etc. No repair is required if the fibreglass mesh is penetrated by nails, Rawlplugs/anchors or screws: It won’t affect the functionality of the system.
For all thermofer® low-temp radiant surface heating systems there’s an intelligent control system available, which can be tailored precisely to individual needs for maximum comfort. If required, the control scheme can take parameters such as absence, outside temperature, solar radiation and much more into account, and the system can be linked with other appliances (e.g. blinds) and easily controlled via mobile devices (e.g. iPad, smartphones, etc.) – either on the go or while at home.
Between the low operating temperature and the fast warm-up time, substantial savings in both direct heating costs and total cost of ownership can be reaped. Moreover, its lower energy consumption and reduced CO2 emissions help protect the environment.
A mesh is the base.
At the heart of the thermofer® low-temp radiant surface heating is a 1.5 mm thick fibreglass mesh coated with carbon nanotubes (CNT) plus an insulating layer. When electrical current flows across this dense mesh of carbon nanotubes, it produces homogeneously distributed areal heat. The resulting warmth is about 70% heat radiation and 30% convection in the room.
Since the installed thermofer® system is invisible in the wall, floor or ceiling, no radiators are needed – which allows for modern, barrier-free interior design. A further advantage is its ease of installation compared to other heaters, since there’s no complex piping to be laid throughout the building. And because no liquids are used, there’s no risk of damage due to leakage. Furthermore, thermofer® has no moving parts, so it’s low maintenance.
With the heating element integrated just below the surface atop a thin, highly effective insulation layer, thermofer® low-temp radiant surface heating reaches the desired temperature in just a few minutes – significantly faster than other systems. And because it works by distributing low temperatures across a large area, losses to the outside are minimal.
